4 teams scored 18 and made it to finals however we had a tie-breaker of 5 teams who scored equal points and also marked the star mark question wrong before the finals.)
we were expecting cause we scored 16 also.
However Giri took name of Rourkela team missing by a whisker for the tie breaker.
Met Giri after the finals to clarify,why with 16 points we were not there in tie-breaker,he informed that 17 was cut-off for the tie-breakers before the finals.
Last year winners of TCQ-Bhubaneswar from Vizag steel won again.Infosys represented by Javed and preetpal(the regular winners and finalists in bhubaneswar based quizzes) missed out the bus yet again and were satisfied with the runners-up tag.9tie-breaker entry)
Priyamvad and Roshan(regular quizzers) of Tech-mahindra were there on stage.(tie-breaker entry)
Vodafone,BPCL,VIZAG STEEL-2 were the other teams.BPCL failed to open their accounts in the finals.
The single audience question was answered by me as UPS and got a coffee mug embossed as TATA CRUCIBLE QUIZ 2009.Again ,I have to wait for an year looking at this mug again and again.3 questions were repeated from the campus TCQ-09.
There were some good connects in the finals.Will detail out the same in a while.Giri kept the prelims very easy,it seems he is still under estimating the quizzer's potential in Bhubaneswar.

Just had a query.Throughout the crucible I have seen a 25 qstn format.Was it diffrent at bhubneshwar where only 20 qstns were asked( given in your blog ).I am waiting for the Indore round hence wished to know the format of the prelims

4.there was an easy sitter on XIM,Bhubaneswar saying that founded by jesuit society etc in that 3 clue round that Priyamvad answered joyfully even Giri finished the first clue and bagged some 20 points I suppose...
5.clive rice along with another Indian cricketer is lighting streets.Identify the cricketer of Indian origin?ANS;-KAPIL DEV,MUSCO LIGHTINGS is the company((happy to inform you that we had this question earlier in march ahead,may be a coincidence)
6.sinking ship of MNCs picture given as they were not doing well during recession,excellent question ,this picture was put up before b-schools and engg colleges(answered by preetpal and javed genious of Infy easily)..failing to frame it properly....

Its true Giri underestimates the quizzing standard in Bhubaneswar... which I think is right up there with the best... cut off of 17 for a 20 question prelims in way too high... i think he needs to come better prepared from next time on...

Its difficult to fathom why Giri under estimates BBSR now also.. maybe he's testing the waters?
